Prepare baked desserts, fresh biscuits and breads for Restaurant(s).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. 2 year degree in baking or culinary management is preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience as a full service baker.
Has a track record of working independently and productively without direct supervision. Proficiency in frosting and decorating cakes is required. Is able to assist in developing high quality baking recipes for Virgil’s Real Barbecue Restaurant. Works according to all established local and NY State health codes. Serve Safe certification preferred. Maintains clean and safe workplace and demonstrates a high level of safety at all times. Must be proficient in baking from scratch and handling proof and bake or par-baked products. Has developed a professional level of baking productivity and creativity.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition subtraction and multiplication tables.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
